An anonymous caller contacted the Johnston Police Department and reported that Sheila Craven was staying at 65 Shore Drive, Johnston on Aug. 3. The caller stated the person living at the residence has a no-contact order against Craven, but was too scared to call.

Sgt. Seth Crosby and Patrolmen Matthew Winsor and John DeAngelis responded to 65 Shore Drive. The resident answered the door, and the officers asked if Craven was there. The resident allegedly told the officers that Craven “kinda forced her way in, and I was scared to call you guys,” according to Winsor’s report.

The homeowner showed the officers the room where Craven was located. The officers pushed open the door to the room and saw Craven sitting on the edge of a bed. She allegedly put an unknown
object in the night stand as the officers opened the door, according to the report. In the drawer Winsor located three burnt glass tubes, burnt steel wool, a white rock substance, and a container with a white powdery substance.

According to Winsor’s report, the officers asked the homeowner if they could search the rest of the bedroom for other narcotics. When the homeowner consented to a search, Winsor reportedly found Hydrocodone pills in Craven’s purse.

Police charged Craven with possession of crack cocaine, illegal possession of Hydrocodone, and violation of a no-contact order.
