JPD Arrest Log: DUI, Two Warrant Arrests

The following information was provided by the Johnston Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

Johnston Police reported the following arrests this week:

Warrant Arrests:

Ptlm. Remy Mendez arrested Gabriel Soto, 40, of 44 Suffolk St., Providence, on Sept. 21 at about 3:30 pm on a warrant issued by Third District Court, Warwick, following a traffic stop on Hartford Avenue for excessive smoke fumes emanating from his truck. The court warrant was issued for failure to appear at a payment hearing on a 2011 charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Warwick Police. Online court records indicate Soto appeared in court on Sept. 24 and paid the fine.

Ptlm. Derek Parascondolo and Sgt. Michael Babbitt arrested Jason Delellis, 41, of 1 Larkwood Ct., on an active Superior Court warrant for failing to appear at arraignment on attempted larceny and vandalism charges brought by Johnston Police. Delellis pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Sept. 24, and was released on personal recognizance until a determination of attorney hearing scheduled for Oct. 9.

DUI Arrest:

Ptlm. Derek Ofori reported the arrest of Nicholas Pasarrelli, 31, after another officer pulled over Pasarrelli's car for speeding on Killingly Street at about 1 am on Sept. 23. Ofori assisted Ptlm. Mario Mennella Jr. in administering a field sobriety test and a preliminary breath test, which registered a .239 blood-alcohol level. Pasarrelli refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test at the police station. He is due for arraignment in Third District Court on Oct. 4.
