From the Johnston Police Department: 

Probationary Patrol Officer Edward Gonzalez became the newest member of the on May 19, following his swearing-in by Mayor Joseph M. Polisena at town hall.

Gonzalez served for 20 years in the Providence Police Department, retiring last week. He has resided in Johnston for 20 years; is fluent in English and Spanish; and brings much experience, knowledge, and skill to the Johnston Police Department.
