Johnston Police to Welcome New Officers This Morning

Mayor Joseph Polisena is scheduled to administer the oath of office at 11 am at the police department headquarters.

Following their completion of local testing and the 22-week Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy, a group of officers is scheduled to be sworn into the force this morning at 11 am at the police department.

Police Deputy Chief David DeCesare announced that Mayor Joseph Polisena is expected to administer the oaths of office to three newly-minted patrol officers, who will serve a one-year probationary period before attaining the rank of full patrolman.

The hirings follow several recent promotions and the , which began last September.
