Johnston Man Among 3 Indicted in Providence Burglary Case

A state grand jury indicted Christopher Peralta, 22, for his role in a May, 2012 incident.

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Christopher Peralta, 22, of 5 Parillo Circle, Johnston, and Cristian Rosario and Remy Santos of Providence with one count each of first degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, one count of using a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence, and one count of carrying a carrying a firearm without a license.

In addition, Rosario is charged with one count of eluding police and Santos and Peralta are each charged with one count of burglary. Peralta is also charged with two counts of felony assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and Santos is charged with one count of felony assault.

It is alleged that on or about May 31, 2012, Rosario, Santos and Peralta conspired to and did commit robbery, with the robbery being in the first degree. It is further alleged that the three, none of whom had a license to carry a firearm, used a firearm while committing a crime of violence. In addition, it is alleged that Peralta and Santos committed burglary of a dwelling and assaulted the residents.

When police attempted to apprehend the suspects, it is alleged that Rosario fled from the officers. 

The alleged incidents took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation.  Rosario, Santos and Peralta are all being held without bail and are scheduled to be arraigned before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause in Providence County Superior Court on Nov. 29, 2012.
