Icy Road Blamed For Two-Car Crash

No injuries were reported following the accident on Central Avenue on Tuesday morning.

reported that ice on the road was the apparent cause of a two-car accident on Central Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Ptlm. Stephen Altomari reported that he and other officers were already investigating an accident at the same location when the 2003 Mercedes driven by Margaret Levy, of Pawtucket, pulled into the eastbound breakdown lane "due to extremely icy road conditions."

According to Altomari, the 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Annette Macleod, of Norfolk, MA, then slid into the rear of Levy's car after Macleod apparently tried to stop her minivan.

Neither driver was injured, Altomari wrote. The vehicles "were deemed operable," and were driven from the scene.
