Grand Jury Indicts Men who Allegedly Robbed Pizza Driver

The two men from Cranston and Johnston that allegedly robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint last November were indicted by a grand jury on Monday.

The Providence County Grand Jury indicted Joshua Carey, 23, of 19 Woodland Ave., Cranston, and Alec Perry, 18, of 343 Simmonsville Ave., Johnston, each on charges of first degree robbery and carrying a weapon while committing a crime of violence and conspiracy.

Police said the two men allegedly ordered two pizzas from Silver Lake Pizza in Providence and requested for the delivery man to bring change for a $100.00. When the delivery man responded to 5 Joy St. in Johnston, a white male suspect exited the residence with a black rifle and ordered the delivery man to give them all the money.

At that time the money was handed over and both suspects ran from the scene with the stolen $230.00 cash and the two pizzas.

Both are due to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause on Feb. 14.
