'Get Out of Jail Free' Suspect Pleads Out — And Avoids Jail Time

Timothy Little, 24, pleaded no contest to a charge of vandalism stemming from his Sept. 1 arrest by Johnston Police.

The Johnston man who claimed to have a "get out of jail free card" pleaded no contest to one of the charges filed after his arrest on Sept. 1 — and did, in fact, avoid serving time in prison.

According to online court records, Timothy Little, 24, didn't exactly "get out free," however — Judge Pamela Woodcock-Pfeiffer sentenced Little to a one-year suspended sentence and one years' probation.

At his formal arraignment in Third District Court, Warwick, on Sept. 12, Little entered his plea to a misdemeanor count of vandalism brought by Johnston Police, who alleged that Little had kicked the plastic cover off an electrical socket inside the police station.

In a separate filing, Little also pleaded no contest to charges of driving under the influence, BAC unknown; reckless driving; driving with a suspended license; and disorderly conduct. Woodcock-Pfeiffer dismissed the disorderly conduct charge, and scheduled a home confinement review for Sept. 28 on the other counts.

Johnston Police reported that an officer observed Little's car travel through a red light just after midnight on Sept. 1.

According to police reports, Little failed to stop for the officer who attempted to pull over his car; led the officer on a chase back to Little's residence; and repeatedly claimed he had a "get out of jail free card" for helping police locate Michael Gomes, the suspect in an Aug. 4 samurai sword attack.

Little also refused a Breathalyzer test, and tried to inflict bruises on himself, which officers said was an attempt to claim police misconduct.

Online court records also show that Little is scheduled to appear at a pre-trial hearing on Sept. 28 on a disorderly conduct charge filed by Johnston Police for Little's alleged role in the Aug. 4 disturbance where the sword attack occurred.
