Community Day At Station #1 Set For May 22
The local fire company hosts an Open House this weekend.
April Barber, a member of our Mom's Council, sent us this announcement:
A Community Awareness Day for the city of Johnston is planned for May 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at Station 1, 1173 Atwood Ave.
The Johnston Fire Department has recently completed ALEC Training and will be hosting an Open House for Johnston residents with developmental disabilities and their families.
Representatives from the Johnston Fire Department, Johnston Police Department and First Responders will be on hand to meet individuals and their families, allowing them to become accustomed to seeing these wonderful service providers in full uniform as well as offering the opportunity to enter their emergency vehicles.

The Community Awareness Day is a collaborative effort by the ASA RI Chapter, Groden Network, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, SNCARC Family Autism Center and the Johnston Fire Department.
