Car Collides With School Bus, Causes Traffic Backup On Atwood Avenue

Two high school students were removed from the school bus as a precautionary measure.

A car apparently struck the back of a bus on Atwood Avenue just after 2 p.m. today.

School Facilities Manager David Cournoyer said two of the 28 high school students on the bus were taken from the scene by Johnston rescue personnel as a precaution.

"There were two students who were sitting in the back seat, so we're taking them to get checked out, just to be safe," Cournoyer explained, adding that there was no damage to the bus. "We'll send it back out on the run once the students have been transported."
