Accused Vandal Won't Face School Disciplinary Action [POLL]

Johnston High School senior Raymond Zinno, 18, faces a charge of malicious destruction of public property after he allegedly drove his car onto the field at the town's soccer complex.

The Johnston High School senior arrested for over the weekend of Mar. 3 will not face disciplinary action by the Johnston School District, Supt. Dr. Bernard DiLullo said during a phone interview on Mar. 16.

Raymond Zinno, 18, reportedly admitted to driving his Isuzu Rodeo on the turf at the town soccer complex on Atwood Avenue. A second Johnston man, Costanzo Caparrelli, also 18, is attending college out of state; Johnston Police issued a warrant for his arrest pending his return to Rhode Island.

"Because it occurred outside of the school day, it's not in our jurisdiction," DiLullo explained. "It's a criminal matter that's now in the hands of the police department."
