Accident Leads To Citation

Johnston police issued a citation for improper use of registration plates after a local man's truck slid off an icy road and hit a utility pole.

A Johnston resident was issued a citation for improper use of registration plates after officers responded to an accident involving his truck.

According to reports, the 2003 Ford dump truck driven by Frederick Bailey, of Castaldi Drive, slid off the road on Plainfield Street just before 8 p.m. on Jan. 21 and collided with a utility pole.

The pole was "completely dislodged from the ground" after being hit by the snowplow on the front of the truck, Ptlm. Troy Maddocks wrote. Both front fenders of the truck were also damaged in the collision.
