Accident In Front Of Ferri Middle School Snarls After-School Traffic

Johnston Police and Fire responded to the scene; at least one person was transported by rescue.

At least one person was transported from the scene of an apparent two-car accident that occurred in front of on March 14, just as the school was dismissing students and staff.

The accident clogged traffic on Atwood Avenue — typically busy at 2 p.m. as school ends for the day — creating a back-up in three directions on Atwood Avenue and Cherry Hill Road.

Johnston Police and Fire units responded to the accident scene; one person was transported by rescue.

A black Cadillac Escalade was seen on the island divider at the entrance of the Ferri parking lot, and a white Oldsmobile was parked in the right travel lane of Atwood Avenue, facing south. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by 2:30 p.m.
