Veronica A. (Fiore) Acciardo
The Johnston resident and former teacher at St. Rocco School passed away on May 14.
Veronica A. (Fiore) Acciardo, 78, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2012. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (Rivelli) Fiore. Mrs. Acciardo was an elementary teacher at , in Johnston for many years until her retirement. Veronica was a descendant of Guarcino, Italy.
She was the loving mother of Thomas Acciardo of Scituate, and former state Sen. Gregory J. Acciardo, (D-Dist. 28) of Johnston, with whom she made her home. Veronica was the cherished grandmother of Nicole Amelia Acciardo of Johnston. She was the former wife of Ernest C. Acciardo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 18, at 10 am in , 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Interment will be private.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John E. Fogarty Center, 220 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
