Sylvia (Costa) Bell

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday at 10 am at St. Brigid Church, Johnston.

Sylvia (Costa) Bell, 94, of Scituate Vista Drive, Cranston, died peacefully at home on Aug. 20, 2012. She was the wife of the late Arthur Bell.

Born in Providence a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Rose (Ponte) Costa, she lived in Cranston for 36 years, after having lived in the Fox Point section of Providence. She worked in the jewelry industry for many years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Donald Gormley of Cranston; her granddaughter, Robyn Gormley-Jackson and her husband  Nicholas of Glocester; and her three great-grandchildren, Quinn, Amelia and Ellie. She was the sister of the late Mary Costa, Evangeline Caduto and Rose Medeiros-Matows.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in in Johnston at 10 am. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St., Johnston, RI 02919.
