Silvio V. Centofanti: Korean War Veteran

The Johnston resident passed away on Nov. 21, 2012.

 

Silvio V. Centofanti, 83, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of fifty-nine years to Rose T. (Regine) Centofanti.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Giovanni Marco and Grazia Marie (Centofanti) Centofanti. Silvio was a purchasing agent for the former Rolo Manufacturing Company of Providence.

He was a US Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. Silvio was a Charter Member of the Smithfield Elks Lodge # 2359.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving son Daniel M. Centofanti of Barrington and was the cherished grandfather of Nicholas Ross Centofanti of Barrington. He was the brother of Rose M. Rego of Florida, and the late Joseph “Diamond” Centofanti, Filomena Cantone, Corrine Yemma, Anna Polce, Delia Imbriaco, and Celia Pacifico.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Interment with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
