Rose (Coda) Melino, 96, formerly of Simmons Village, Johnston, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick.

Rose (Coda) Melino, 96, formerly of Simmons Village, Johnston, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Melino.  Born in Biella, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Settimio and Gemma (Aglietta) Coda.

Rose was a teacher of dress making, and later worked at A.T. Cross Co. and T.D. Brown before retiring.

She was the devoted mother of Gary J. Melino and his wife Margarita of Warwick, Sandra G. Cardillo and her husband Joseph of Cranston and Marie J. Brown and her husband Terry of Palm City, FL; loving grandmother of nine; loving great-grandmother of fourteen; and dear sister of Norma Bert of Johnston and the late Enfa Manetti, Elma Iannazzi, Sandrino Coda and Ines Catanzaro.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m.  Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
