Louis T. Folcarelli, 88, of Johnston, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family.
Louis was the husband of Helen (Maggiacomo) Folcarelli. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Tomaso and Francesca (Damata) Folcarelli. Louis was a letter carrier in the Town of North Providence for 28 years before his retirement. He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII and a member of the DAV Giovanni Folcarelli Chapter #1. He was State Commander of the DAV for the year of 1985-1986. He was the Quartermaster for the VFW Kelley-Gazzerro Post 2812 and also belonged to the American Legion Post 25 and ITAM Post #5.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Linda and Donna Folcarelli, both of Johnston. Louis was the brother of Anthony Folcarelli, Anna Caracciolo and the late Giovanni Folcarelli, Esq., a former Lieutenant Governor for the State of RI, and Thomas Folcarelli, Jr.
Funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco’s Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston at 10 a.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday 5–8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI Veterans Home, Furnishings Account, 480 Metacom Avenue Bristol, RI 02809.
