John A. "Jack" Draine, JPD. Ret., 68, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.

John A. "Jack" Draine, JPD. Ret., 68, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.

He was the beloved husband of forty-four years to Joyce A. (Marrocco) Draine. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John T. and Marion “Hazel” (LaBanca) Draine.

Jack was with the Johnston Police Department for thirteen years before his retirement. He was a graduate of Bryant College and the RI Radio and Electronics School. Jack was a former member of the RI National Guard. He was a member of the Highland Rod and Gun Club and the Pine Hill Radio Repeater Group. Jack was an amateur radio operator “WA1QHL”.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughter Melissa J. Pallotta and her husband Bruce of Johnston. Jack was the cherished grandfather of Allison A. Pallotta. He was the brother of Carol Collucci and her husband Victor of Providence and the late James Draine.

Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home and Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston.

Interment will be in . VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, RI Chapter, 1210 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, RI 02920.
