Joseph Aquilante Jr.: Korean War Veteran

The Johnston resident passed away on Oct. 4, 2012.

 

Josephh Aquilante Jr., 84, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Antonetta (Fusco) Aquilante.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nora (Vallesi) Aquilante, Sr. Joseph was a superintendent for the Narragansett Improvement Company for many years before retiring in 1990. Joseph was a US Army National Guard veteran serving during the Korean War Era. He was a member of VFW Post #45.

Joseph is survived by his two loving sons, Joseph Aquilante and his wife Kathryn of North Providence, and Anthony Aquilante and his wife Karen of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of, Anthony, Joseph, Laurie, Joseph Jr., and Nicholas Aquilante. Joseph was the brother of E. William Aquilante of Deerfield Beach, FL, Irene Peskin of Boca Raton, FL, Victoria Jantzen of Albuquerque, NM the late Matthew Aquilante.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
