Gennaro "Jerry" Conti Jr.

The Korean War veteran and manager of the former Almac's supermarket in Johnston passed away on July 11, 2012.

 

Gennaro "Jerry" Conti Jr., 80, of Warwick passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012.  He was the beloved husband of Aileen J. (Voccio) Conti.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gennaro and Lucia (Vario) Conti.

Mr. Conti was employed as a store manager for the former Almac’s Supermarket of Johnston for 32 years until retiring in 1993.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children Don T. Volino and his wife Heather of West Warwick and Doreen A. Maw and her husband Brian of Johnston; his grandchildren Abby Volino, Katie O’Connell, Brian Maw Jr., Michaela Ritch, Don T. Volino Jr. and Jerry E. Volino; and his great granddaughter Madeline Ritch. He was the brother of the late Mary Ciaramello , Anthony Conti and was brother in law of Eva Conti of Coventry.

Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, on Monday at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church Cranston at 10 am.  Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
