Brown Ave. School Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is a great time to say "thanks" and give back to the people with whom we entrust our children with everyday.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a great time to say "thanks" and give back to the people  with whom we entrust our children with everyday.

In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, everyday this week the Brown Ave. PTO provided various treats for the outstanding team of staff and teachers at Brown Ave. Elementary School. A delicious breakfast was served Monday morning, Tuesday each teacher received a Dunkin' Donuts gift card, Wednesday a wonderful luncheon was served, Thursday students are asked to bring in classroom supplies (pencils, glue sticks, tissues, etc. or a gift card to a store), on Friday the students will be presenting letters of gratitude to their teachers.

Parents volunteered to cover classrooms and during recess so the teachers and teacher aides could relax and enjoy the festivities. Please remember to do something special for your child's teacher this week (or if by the time you read this, it is next week, do something anyway!). Our teachers deserve a pat on the back for the terrific job they do with our children.

I volunteered to supervise the first graders today and felt exhausted after merely an hour and a half! I can only imagine what it would be like to be in charge of all these students, all day long, throughout the entire school year.

To all the teachers at Brown Ave., I offer a heartfelt thank you for your outstanding professionalism and tremendous commitment to providing our children with the best possible educational experience!
