What's Open and Closed on Columbus Day in Johnston

Oct. 14, 2013, is Columbus Day, a holiday that commemorates Christopher Columbus's landing in the "New World" (by European standards, anyway) on Oct. 12, 1492. It became an official U.S. holiday in 1937, and in 1971, it was set to the second Monday of every October.
