House of Hope CDC's Boutique is a social venture and workforce development program for formerly homeless woman. Participants complete a 6-week sewing program where they not only learn the craft, but also the skills they need to re-enter the workforce.  House of Hope Boutique Originals are purses, totes and other bags produced by formerly homeless women in the program that are then sold all over the state. The money generated from sales goes right back into the program to train more woman.

The store features House of Hope Boutique Originals as well as other social venture products. All merchandise in the store supports a mission, from jewelry made from scrap metal of missiles that gives money to Veterans' programs, to t-shirts that give a shirt to a homeless child.

House of Hope CDC was established in Warwick in 1989 and has grown to become a trusted resource for Rhode Islanders in need of temporary and permanent housing and other critical, lifesaving supports.  The agency provides a myriad of social services to individuals and families—including life skills training, employment training, and mental health counseling—while restoring a sense of community for residents that the stigma of homelessness had stripped away. As an extension of the House of Hope CDC’s mission to prevent and end homelessness the boutique works towards empowering women through education of new skills.
