RI Blood Center "Design for Life" T-Shirt Design Contest: Submit Entries by Feb. 26, 2011!

Calling Rhode Island's Student Artists!

If you are an artist in Rhode Island age 19 and younger you can enter the RI Blood Center's Second Annual Design for Life T-shirt Design Contest and Recognition Program that will acknowledge one gifted artist and hundreds of students who donate blood three times a year.

Student artists can submit their T-shirt designs by mail or on-line between September 1, 2010 and February 26, 2011. The RI Blood Center, along with a panel of esteemed Rhode Island artists, will then narrow the entries to a group of three finalists.  The winner will then be chosen by a community-wide on-line secret ballot in the Spring of 2011.  The winning design will be printed on T-shirts and and given out to students ages 19 and younger who have donated blood at least three times between September 1, 2010 and July 11, 2011 and who have made one attempt at holding a high school blood drive.

The 2010 T-Shirt Design winner was Halle Rasco of Woonsocket, RI. Last year, 560 donors received the T-shirt designed by Halle.  Her design was selected as one of the three finalists from over 100 entrees that were submitted by students ranging in age from five to nineteen.  The three finalists received a total of 18,000 on-line votes.
