URI Teaches Climate Change But Refuses to Talk About Its Cause

Over the past five months we have repeatedly and peristently reached out to The University of Rhode Island's administration via email, phone calls and ground mail.

Despite these efforts and the hundreds of petitions which we have collected, the University has refused to meet with us. Now the school is claiming to be a national leader in climate change education.

How can URI educate the world about climate change when it refuses to meet with their own students, faculty, alumni and community members to discuss fossil fuel divestment?

Our experience with the other institutions of higher learning has not been better, and the same applies to the RI Board of Education. Time for the schools and the board to put their monies where their mouths are.

Hey, URI, we need to talk. Its time to stop funding our school with money from the oil, coal and gas companies that are wrecking our planet.

It's time to go #FosilFree.
