Private Well Water Protection Workshops for Residents



























URI and RI Dept of Health offer informational 

program for private well owners.

 Your drinking water tastes and smells fine – but, when was the last time you had it tested?  And, what should it be tested for?  

Find out what's happening in Johnstonwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

To assist private well owners in testing and protecting their drinking water, the RI Department of Health and  URI will host a free educational workshops during the fall.  

This two-hour workshop will educate residents about common contaminants,


well maintenance, and how to test their well water.  The workshop will be held


Tuesday, October 22, 2013
from 7 – 9 PM at the Scituate Community House


on Route 116.

“Workshop participants will learn about substances

that can affect well water, why they are a concern, how to arrange for a well


water test, and well water treatment options,” said Alyson McCann, with URI Cooperative

Extension’s Water Quality Program. 


Educational handouts will be available and following the workshop


experts will be available to answer additional questions.
