Update: Light Snow Expected Tuesday Morning; Rain To Follow

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for January 18.

The Boston office of the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory Monday afternoon for accumulations of both snow and rain, forecast to begin at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Snow is forecast to begin between 7 an 10 a.m., with sleet and freezing rain to follow before turning to rain in the afternoon. The rain is then expected to intensify after dark, potentially causing flooding problems.

In 2010, areas near Borden, Morgan, and Hartford Avenues in Johnston were hardest hit by spring floods that followed 10 inches of rainfall.
