The Hunt Is On This Weekend

The Great Johnston Scavenger Hunt returns this weekend.

 

Think you know Johnston well? Put your knowledge to the test this weekend with the 4th Annual Great Johnston Scavenger Hunt.

Teams will be scouring town to locate and complete a series of 50 tasks, guided by lists of clues. Digital devices, such as smart phones, are allowed but not required. Teams are encouraged to use the Internet, smart phones, books, maps, GPS devices or knowledgeable family members to complete the tasks and solve clues.

Teams will be asked to photograph each location on the list to score points. 

Registration for the hunt runs from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Johnston Historical Society's headquarters at 101 Putnam Pike. The hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Points will be tallied and awards will be handed out between 3:30 and 5 p.m.

Refreshments will be served during the event as well.

There is an $8 donation for each team. Proceeds will benefit the Johnston Historical Society.

Though this is a child-friendly event, it does require a car. Therefore, each team should have at least one adult with a valid driver's license.
