EVENT OF THE DAY: Time To Get A Donut

Dunkin' Donuts celebrates National Donut Day with a free pastry to purchasing customers today.

Honoring "the happiness donuts bring to people's lives," Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free donut of their choice to each customer who buys a coffee or beverage (excluding bottles drinks) today.

National Donut Day, held the first Friday of June each year, was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.

Stop by one of four Dunkin' Donuts in Johnston — 2738 Hartford Ave., 1491 Atwood Ave., 1680 Hartford Ave. or 602 Killingly St. — for your free donut today.
