EVENT OF THE DAY: Helping Hands
The senior center hosts a toy and gift card drive run by the Johnston Police Explorers starting this afternoon at 5 p.m.
Members of the Johnston Police Explorers Post #405 are scheduled to start a four-day toy and gift card collection drive todat ay 5 p.m. at the .
The Explorers — a groups of young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 who do a variety of community service projects whie they learn about law enforcement — will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards in any amount to help local families in need.
Donations can also be dropped off at , the , , and all local public schools.

At the conclusion of the collection drive, the Explorers are set to hold their wrapping party at the senior center on Thursday night Dec. 15.
