The Power of Rhode Islanders

Only two weeks ago WJAR ran a story on a 99 year old Rhode Island business that was in peril like so many of our small businesses in our failing Rhode Island economy.  I watched the story in dis-belief that our lawmakers could loan 75 million dollars to someone with no business experience then upon its failure make us the taxpayers responsible for paying it back, which by the way fellow Johnston residents, my opponent, your current anti-hardworking representative voted yes to make us pay it back, would deny help to a small business that has been around almost a century. 

Taking up the fight to "Save Sparky's" I mustered up Rhode Islanders and the media from all over the state to call attention to this tragedy in the making. A huge event was the result with fellow caring Rhode Islanders and the media turning out to the event.

I spoke with Mr. George Watts last evening and things are looking much brighter for him. It only took someone that truly cares about RI small business and not afraid to act. By standing up for and focusing attention on the 99 year old business, Mr. Watts told me that business has been great since my Save Sparky's event, the SBA will be visiting him this week, E. Prov. has reached out to help and others have helped with advertising and more.

I promise you this is just a preview of my fight for small business and if you help to get me elected to the State Representative seat in Johnston district 43 my ongoing fight will be for all Rhode Island business. You proved Rhode Islanders that you, the every day guy and gal CAN have an influence on correcting wrongs in this state and helping to make them right.
