RI Resource Hosts Two Eco-Depot Drop-Offs

The Central Landfill and North Providence High School are the locations for the August 27 collection drives for electronic and household hazardous waste.

The (RIRRC) of Johnston hosts two Eco-Depot collection drives on August 27 where Rhode Island residents can drop off their electronic and household hazardous waste (HHW).

Collections are scheduled at the Central Landfill in Johnston from 8 a.m. to noon and at North Providence High School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Appointments are required to drop off HHW at both locations. Examples of household waste include dead florescent light bulbs, used motor oil and oil filters, old radiator coolant, remnant oil-based paint, mercury thermostats, mercury thermometers, leftover bug spray and unwanted lawn chemicals, RIRRC noted in a press release.

The collections are free and available for R.I. residents only.
