While this part of the work is not expected to require the shutdown of Central Avenue to through-traffic as was the case in mid-September, RIRRC noted that one lane will be closed through at least the end of this week as crews install sewer and water lines beneath the I-295 overpass heading toward Atwood Avenue.

The $4 million project, formally started in July, will allow the RIRRC to tie into Narragansett Bay Commission sewer lines, instead of Cranston. The company is also repaving all of Central Avenue as part of the work.
