Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library, One Memorial Ave., is hosting its second annual Medieval Faire on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

  • Fighting demonstrations
  • Arts and crafts
  • Medieval costuming by the members of the Society for Creative Anachronism
  • Sword lessons
  • Backsmith demonstrations
  • Kid's quests
  • Life-sized medieval game called Alquerques
  • Knights of Gore performing a live steel sword demo

Cleanup:

  • Saturday morning from 9 to 11 am, the Johnston Historical Society is scheduled to hold a yard clean-up at the Elijah Angell House.
  • If you've been wondering what to do with those old cans of paint, blown-out lightbulbs, or other household hazardous waste (HHW), Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, located at the Central Landfill, is holding an Eco-Depot collection drive on Saturday from 8 am to noon.
