J & D Restaurant Shuttered After 45 Years
Owners of the restaurant issued a statement Thursday morning on the closing.
A longtime Johnston fixture, J & D Family Restaurant on Rte. 44 closed on Wednesday.
The announcement was posted by the Delos and Pacheco families, owners of the restaurant, on the J & D Restaurant Facebook page on Thursday morning.
"The Johnston community has supported us through the loss of our father Dennis Allaire and through our desire to keep his legacy going," the statement read. "We will miss all of you."
Allaire died in June, 2012, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. J & D hosted a fundraiser this past June to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
