Grab & Go — Great Places To Take The Kids

JohnstonPatch has your list of weekend events and activities for the little ones.

At Mohr Library: Feeling crafty? Mohr Library hosts Drop-in Crafts from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 25 for kids older than 3. While you're there, sign up your little readers for the library's summer reading program.

Get 'Em Outside: When you think of strawberry picking, do you think of long (boring) drives, way out of town? Well, go no further than Brown Avenue, where Dame Farm is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 26. Click the link for contact information.

Sonic Booms: If it's late June, it's time for the Rhode Island National Guard Open House Air Show in North Kingstown. The show starts at 10 a.m. on both June 25 and 26. Admission is free; a voluntary $10 parking donation to benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital will be collected at the entrances.

Explore The Cosmos: The Museum of Natural History and Planetarium at Roger Williams Park hosts a public planetarium show on June 26 at 2 p.m. It's a 35-minute tour of the galaxy. For ages 4+.

Get Messy: I'm sure the parents are going to love this one — Providence Children's Museum is offering Mud Play on June 26 at 2 p.m. Kids ages 3 to 11 can play — I mean, "dig, scoop, and build" (as PCM's site says) with mud and create mud pies in the Children's Garden. Admission is $8.50; $2 per person with passes available at local libraries (like Lincoln Public Library); free to members of Neighborhood Health Plan.
