E-Waste Collection Set for 9/17 At Central Landfill

Residents can drop off hazardous waste and other materials from 8 a.m. to noon at the Landfill on Sun Pike.

Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) of Johnston has scheduled a household hazardous waste (HHW) at the Central Landfill on Sun Pike for Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Appointments are necessary to reduce time waiting in line.

According to a press release from RIRRC, household hazardous waste cannot be combined with trash or recyclables. Because they are toxic and have the potential to pollute the environment, the products need to be recycled by waste handlers trained to dispose them safely.
