A Little Bit Of Paradise: Enza's Hair Studio & Day Spa

The Thursday Patch Passport shows you a Little Bit of Paradise. This is a local place where you can feel like you are a million miles away from the daily stress of life, without having to go far from home. Come along and relax...

If you want to escape the construction and traffic in town and spend a day pampering yourself from head to toe but don't want to travel too far, then Enza's Hair Studio & Day Spa at 60 Danielson Pike in North Scituate, right over the Johnston line, is your place for a day of relaxation.

Johnston resident Enza Slinko is the proprietor of the salon, and explained that her passion for hair cutting began at the early age of 14 when she started to cut her cousin's hair.

Enza went on to fullfill her dream as she graduated from Costins Beauty School in Warwick in 1990. After graduating Enza started styling hair at Total Elegance in Cranston, she also worked at Fantastic Sam's in the Stuarts Plaza in Johnston, before she opened her own salon in the Silver Lake area of Providence in 1992.

Enza has been at her Danielson Pike location for a year and a half now, and has begun offering keratin treatments for unruly, frizzy and bulky hair.

If you want a perfect set of nails, then you should set an appointment one of the salon's three nail technicians: Courtney Victoria, Michelle Jackson and Alicia Barata.

"The salon does acrylic nails, gels, shellac and gelish," said Jackson, who has been a nail technician for 12 years.

When your face has been feeling dry and dull and you want to put that glow back into your skin, Sandra Fontana will give you a facial using the bio elements line, which will make your face glow and help you feel refreshed.

You don't have to wait for that special occasion to try the Salon's new make-up line called Ultra Pure, said Slinko.

"Ultra Pure is 100 percent natural," said Enza. "It will not make your skin breakout."

Barata explained that Ultra Pure make-up has no parabens (a cancer causing chemical), and offers a large assortment of eye shadows, blushes and concealers.

After all that attention to your skin and hair, it's time for a relaxing massage with professional massage therapist Kathy Efflandt.

Slinko also highly recommends time with her Reiki Masters Certified Reflexologists, Gail Diodati and Lois Bardsley-Sirous.

"Reiki relieves a lot of stress through the masters channeling her own energy," said Enza. "It's a great way to relax with music playing and candles."

On July 20, Enza had a 'Wellness' night introducing her new yoga instructor, Satta Jallah, and her mentor, Bethany DiPetrillo.

"Yoga gives back to our selves," said Jallah, who has been a certified yoga instructor for two years. "Enza's team will have small groups and one-on-one individual yoga to relieve stress, to do breathing techniques and meet their own individual goals."
