A Sweet Time: Marian J. Mohr Library hosts another meeting of its After School Adventures program today starting at 4:30 p.m. Today's theme is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Honoring The Past: That's the work of the Johnston Historical Society, which recently celebrated the opening of the Mabel Sprague House on Morgan Avenue, among other efforts to preserve historical sites around Johnston. Tonight at 6:30, the society's Executive Board meets, with a General Meeting scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

America Attacked: On this date in 1941, Japanese forces attacked the American fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI, in a surprise offensive meant to cripple the U.S. fleet. The U.S. declared war on Japan a day later, and officially entered World War II.
