The library hosted a party in advance of the final Harry Potter movie.

hosted a gathering of local Harry Potter fans on July 12 in advance of the release of the final movie in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, on July 15.

From the folks who attended, it was clear that the draw of the Harry Potter series, about a young orphan who learns he is actually a famous wizard, goes beyond young kids — although Domenic Parillo, 8, was an able representative of his age group in his Harry Potter costume.

Kathryn Porter, bedecked in her wizarding robes, explained that she's been "calling IMAX (theaters) because I want to be first in line" for Part 2 when it's released.

"This is going to be my fifth movie midnight release — I'm going to be dressed up and ready to go," Porter said. "Two hours after they posted it, I bought 10 tickets — so I will be first in front, box of tissues in hand."
