Grab & Go — Great Places To Take The Kids
JohnstonPatch has your list of weekend events and activities for the little ones.
Happy Birthday: On July 15 from 11 a.m to 3 p.m., Roger Williams Park Zoo continues its Animal Birthday series with a celebration of the bald eagle. It's the third of five installments of the series, and the last chance for kids to get their Animal Birthday Club cards — if they attend the last three events, the card is good for entry into a drawing for a birthday party package for up to 10 kids.
Black Ships: The annual Black Ships Festival sails into Newport on July 16 and 17. It's a great way for kids to learn a little history — and dance themselves crazy to the Awesome Taiko Drummers.
Discovery: A little closer to home, the Providence Children's Museum (admission $8.50, free for members of Neighborhood Health Plan) hosts Nature Investigators, a chance for kids to "explore the creative arts using natural materials," according to the PCM calendar web page. The program is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on July 16 and 17.
