5 Things To Know Today: March 1

Activities for young and old alike in Johnston and Cranston; and today in history: Jim Morrison, Miami, and legal problems.

Manton Seniors Meeting: The Manton Seniors of Johnston are scheduled to hold their monthly meeting today at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church. Folks over 50 are invited to join and participate in the statewide organization.

Johnston Senior Center Activities:

  • Starting at 9 a.m., the Johnston Senior Center hosts a billard tournament.
  • At 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the center provides basic computer instruction in the computer lab.

For The Younger Set: Bring the littlies to Cranston Central Library for from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Independent 4- and 5-year-olds ("independent" may be a very nice way to put it) are invited.

Public Hockey: You'll have to find another way of identifying your teams than shirts and skins, I'm guessing. during public hockey at Cranston Veteran's Memorial Ice Rink from 12:10 to 2:20 p.m. $10 per player.
