5 Things To Know Today: April 21
Anime and magic at Mohr; local blood drives; Bingo at the Senior Center; public hockey; and today in history: Meet the Beatles, Stones
Even Mohr Vacation Fun: The new library (did you know the address is still One Memorial Ave.?) hosts Anime Club with a showing of Sgt. Frog at 3 p.m. for students in grades 6 to 12 and a magic show at 6:30 p.m. for all ages, sponsored by the Andrew Greene Fund.
Give A Pint, Save A Life: The Rhode Island Blood Center lists two local blood drives today:
- Johnston Fire Station #1 (1173 Atwood Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.
- Dept. of Veterans Affairs, North Providence from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
B-Lucky: There's Bingo at the Senior Center from 1:15 to 3 p.m. today. If you don't win the jackpot, don't worry — there's always tomorrow night.

No Cross-Checks, Please: Smithfield Ice Rink is open for public hockey today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fee is $5 per player; goalies free. Full equipment required.
Meeting Of The Bands: Today, it would be like Justin Bieber meeting Michael Buble (although I have no idea who they are). On this date in 1963, the Beatles and Rolling Stones met for the first time and — wait for it — compared notes. Oh, yeah, I went there. (from brainyhistory.com)
