Snow Storm Expected to Hit Region

Early projections are forecasting 5 to 6 inches for the area.

It looks like Mother Nature isn't waiting to deliver Southern New England its first snow of 2014. Forecasters are eyeing a storm system that could hit the area on Thursday.

Forecast models are preliminary at the moment, but predictions for accumulation look to be in the 5 to 6-inch range. That figure may jump, however, if the storm moves more inland. At the moment, projections have the bulk of the system moving offshore.

The snow will develop earlier in the day and become heavier into the evening, tapering off Friday. Temperatures are expected to sit in the 20s, dropping into the low teens Thursday night. Winds will be strong with gusts up to 45 mph along the coast.
