Photo Gallery: Ronald McDonald's Reading Adventure

Local McDonald's restaurants sponsored the 30-minute performance.

On August 10, the Ronald McDonald Reading Adventure show took place at the Marian J. Mohr Library, the final event of this summer's "" reading program.

The free 30-minute show was sponsored by local McDonald's restaurant owners and operators.

"The library is a good resource for all kinds of books, music and computers," said Ronald McDonald, noting that a library card is all you need to borrow materials.

Ronald McDonald also told the children they could learn all about oceans, different countries and continents. He also tested the childrens' knowledge — when he asked: "How many continents are there?" the children correctly answered seven. Audience members also answered a question about which continent they live on — North America.

The children got a chance to tell Ronald what their favorite books were; some of the answers were Curious George, 'story book' and 'kitty cat' books.

Some of the children also got to volunteer with Ronald as he performed a magic trick with a big black top hat — out of it came the Flags of the World book.

The show ended with Ronald handing out free books called Fun Things and taking pictures with the children.
