Johnston Community Center Will Benefit From Motorcycle Run

Many less fortunate families in Johnston will have a little extra this holiday season, thanks to a motorcycle run and car show Taso's Restaurant hopes to make an annual event.

The Johnston police department escorted the riders on the 30-mile run,  and the Johnston police explorers post 405 where also on hand to direct traffic. The run wrapped up with breakfast and lunch provided by Taso's restaurant, which is owned by Anastasios Thomaidis.

The proceeds from the run benefit the Johnston Community Center Association. Center President Glen Carroll said the money will support several causes, including one to deliver 25 holiday gift baskets to needy families in Johnston.
