Moms Talk Q&A: How Do You Handle Birthday Invitations?

Each week, JohnstonPatch raises a question facing parents and people in our community — and welcomes your feedback.

Question: How do you handle birthday invitations for the kids at your child's school?

April Barber answers: I have twins who are 9 years old and they are in two different classrooms.

Some school policies are that you have to invite every child in the class room. There are 26 children in each class room, so that could be 52 kids to invite. But who knows how many would come? Most parents don't RSVP anyway.

Also, some boys don't want any girls coming, and some girls don't want any boys.  There are some kids that your child just does not like.

I could not fit them all in my house nor do I want to; and if you go to a venue, you pay at least $12 per child.
