Free Summer Food Program Launches Next Week
Free lunches for Johnston children begins next week.
From July 8 to Aug. 15, free meals will be served to any child under 18 at Johnston Memorial Park in the Parillo Building.
The program is a joint effort between the Town of Johnston and school lunch company Aramark.
Lunches will be served on a first-come-first-serve basis and no income requirements or registration is required.
"The site is open to the community at large and may only limit the site’s total enrollment for reasons of security, safety, or control," according to a release.
The beginning of the program will be marked with a kickoff event next Monday.
