First Frost Advisory of the Season Issued

Temperatures will drop into the 30s overnight.

Those still clutching on to summer may have to finally admit defeat as the season’s first frost alert has come across the wire.

The National Weather Service out of Taunton has issued a frost advisory in effect from 2 to 8 a.m. Thursday.

Southern New England has been experiencing an unseasonably warm October up until this point with a bounty of 60º+ days. According to forecasters, temperatures will be plummeting across the eastern part of the country overnight into Thursday morning.

In Rhode Island, temperatures are expected to drop into the lower to mid 30s. Northern and western Rhode Island will see the more drastic temperatures drops, according to the NWS.

Cover any plants that are sensitive to the cold or, is possible, bring them indoors.
